Esam is a civil engineer with postgraduate and leadership diploma from university of oxford.
He has garnered extensive experience in the Aluminium industry with focus on carbon materials through his 20+ years career in various operational and commercial roles with major Aluminium companies and calciners.
During his career he helped developing calciner projects which were vertically integrated with the Aluminium smelters. Esam currently heads the strategic supply sourcing for Emirates Global Aluminium responsible for the sourcing all major raw materials including CPC and anodes in addition to Alloys, relining and refractories.
Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) operate Aluminium smelters in Abu Dhabi and Dubai with total capacity of 2.5 million metric tons, an alumina refinery in Abu Dhabi, and a bauxite mine and associated export facilities in the Republic of Guinea. EGA is a minority shareholder in JV operating a calciner in China.
